JK Advice Centre Case Study

Housing is one of the most challenging issues to negotiate as there is a critical shortage of houses.

The challenges range from navigating the process of registering with a local council for housing which includes completing a rather lengthy application form, collating all the necessary proof required (usually for the last 10 years and 5 years for the more accommodating boroughs!).

Let’s not even mention the waiting, assessments and then bidding process if one is lucky to even get a decent banding!  It can certainly be a very frustrating process.  Nevertheless, there are a few successes that we can celebrate.  One such case is that of a client who became quite ill and was no longer able to work.  Her illness affected her mobility quite badly.  We assisted this lady with the application process, helped her locate and supply all the necessary documentation.  Her application was assessed and she was awarded Band 2, which is the second highest banding for a North London Borough we were working with in this particular case.  She has since been allocated a property suitable for her needs.

The client is very happy and indeed we are delighted that we could assist this lady with her housing crisis.
